How We Came To Be

I have always been a storyteller, but it wasn’t until I was asked to do a photo slideshow  for a family Christmas get-together, that I discovered my talent in visual storytelling.  My task was to obtain photos of family members for a  “year in review” and put together a basic “Here’s What I Did Last Summer” kind of show.

My grandmother had passed away the year before, and in going through her things, we had come across just tons of old photos that I don’t know that anyone ever knew existed.  This was a great family history!

I loved the fact that she had pictures of her Grandparents, which meant that I now had pictures of my children’s Great, Great, Great Grandparents to show to them.  And there were pictures of my mom and her bothers and sister when they were little kids.  She must have saved every newspaper article about every person in her family that was ever written.  But the very best thing we found were years of letters that my Grandfather had written to my Grandmother during WWII.  This was how they courted, she being a young lady in high school and he, a 17-year-old soldier.   This is how WE came to be.

I simply couldn’t do just a “year in review” with all that wonderful family history in my possession.  I wanted to do something more.  I wanted to take them on a journey back in time, to help them remember and reminisce.  I was able to accomplish that and so much more.  I was able to preserve our family history so that not only can our generation enjoy it, but my children’s children will be able to enjoy it too.

Where we come from and who came before us are gifts to us to pass onto the next generation.  Let me help you record your history today.
